Dan grew up in nearby Ocala and graduated from Forest High School in 1991. After earning an undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College, Dan began a long career in I.T. in Charlotte, NC. He was one of the first webmasters at First Union National Bank in the mid-1990s and also did a stint at American City Business Journals, the largest publisher of weekly business newspapers in the US.
In 2005, Dan earned a North Carolina real estate license. Shortly thereafter, he founded Davis Farrell Technology, which provides property search & valuation technology for Charlotte-area real estate agents. In 2011, Dan moved to Gainesville, got to know the market, and earned a Florida real estate broker license in 2015. He then started Savvy + Company in both Gainesville and Ocala.
Dan is a non-compete broker, which means he doesn't work directly with buyers or sellers, but instead spends his time supporting all Savvy agents so they can be successful. Most of Savvy's technology, from the property search to the property eValuator is home-grown. Dan ensures that Savvy agents are armed with the best information, fast.
Dan's passion is animal rescue. He's worked with Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue since 2003 and Pig Placement Network since 2014. He is also active with local farm sanctuaries: Rooterville and Kindred Spirits Sanctuary.
