V Pizza opening in Gainesville

May 21, 2016

pizzaThe super popular Jacksonville pizza joint, V Pizza, will be opening its first location outside of Jacksonville. Two years after opening in Jax, V pizza has plans to open in Gainesville by July 1.

Gainesville’s V Pizza will be located at 115 Southeast 1st Street, across the street from Harry’s Seafood, Bar and Grille, and very closely located to the Hyppo and Mojo’s Hogtown Bar-B-Que.

The fast casual pizza restaurant is known for its superior quality and delicious pizza. The concept could work anywhere, especially in a pizza-loving college town like Gainesville. V Pizza aims to offer the freshest and most authentic Neapolitano pizza possible.

The Jacksonville location has a business companion and neighbor, Sidecar, a craft cocktail bar. The craft cocktails will be available at the Gainesville V Pizza location, rather than at a neighboring bar or separate establishment, as it does in Jax. The bar area will be integrated into the pizza concept.

V Pizza, which started in the San Marco neighborhood of Jacksonville, also has locations in Jacksonville Beach and Mandarin. It specializes in wood-fired pizza and is part of the ever-growing fast-casual market where patrons order food and beverages at the counter and then the food is brought out to them.

The restaurant sees itself expanding to other college towns besides Gainesville, specifically Tallahassee, as well as other spots in Florida and Georgia. In an effort tot maintain quality, V Pizza is not looking to grow too quickly, though definitely sees expansion on the horizon.
