Savvy & Company will sponsor the 'Polk Pigs'

September 16, 2016

On August 4, around 135 pigs were seized by the Polk County sheriff’s department after an investigation found widespread neglect and inhumane conditions.  Two people were charged with 138 counts of animal neglect & 3 counts of felony animal abuse.

After legal hearings, there will be a large effort to get these pigs vetted and transported to temporary homes while they await permanent adoption.  This will be a major undertaking, and very expensive, so Savvy & Company has committed to sponsoring this effort.  We will donate a portion of every single commission earned in September & October 2016.

Pig Advocates League, Inc. is spearheading this effort and the pigs will receive temporary housing at Rooterville in Melrose.  Anyone interested in donating can do so at http://www.pigadvocates.com/donations.html.
