Tacos and more for your dining pleasure

April 2, 2017

The much loved Cilantro Tacos restaurant that is located in Newberry is going to be opening up a brand-new second location on SW 4th Avenue near SW 6th Street in downtown Gainesville. While the new store will be opening in August, it doesn't mean that the two Cilantro Tacos food trucks will be going away. They will still make regular appearances at the farmers market at Bo Diddley Plaza as well as at the High Dives Food Truck Rally.

The new Gainesville location will utilize patio space as well as the grassy common area that it shares with Humble Pie Catering right next door. The restaurant will offer dine-in as well as to-go options, and hopes to expand the menu, as well.

Renovations of the new space should begin in the next four to six weeks, which will hopefully leave plenty of time for the late summer opening.

In addition to Cilantro Tacos, Gainesville will soon also be home to Keke's Breakfast Café in Butler Plaza, Bangkok Square near Santa Fe College, and a new whopper-themed restaurant on Newberry Road to replace the Burger King that is currently located there.

Just recently, Celebrity's Soul Food opened its third location on 2nd Avenue behind Dragonfly only a couple of weeks ago. It is the third location for the company.
