UberEATS comes to Gainesville

August 8, 2017

There is good news for hungry Gainesville residents who want restaurant food, but don't want to leave their home to get it. UberEATS recently launched its app in Gainesville, which will allow users to order food from restaurants and have it delivered anywhere in the city. This is the first college town in Florida that is getting the UberEATS app.

UberEATS gives users the ability to view a restaurant's full menu and offers a flat rate delivery fee of $4.99. It operates 24/7 and delivery times average approximately 35 minutes, which is shorter than other food delivery companies. The app also allows customers to track their order.

UberEATS also offers a new employment opportunity for Gainesville residents, where drivers can just deliver for UberEATS,  or current Uber drivers can opt to also deliver food as well as people.

There are plenty of chain restaurants on the app, and the company is continually adding more local options for users to choose from.

Bite Squad, 352 Delivery, Gainesville2Go, Doorstep Delivery and 2 Dollar Delivery are the competition for UberEATS  however if UberEATS can offer a cheaper and faster alternative, it will definitely fare well in the Gainesville market.
